Well, humans are only one species, and animals are much more diverse – so if you compare the brain of a mouse and the brain of an elephant, humans would fall somewhere in the middle, size wise. What scientists normally look at, though, is the proportional weight of the brain with respect to the rest of the body – and that’s pretty high in humans, other primates and some birds (e.g. crows). Interestingly, in species where the body size differs hugely between the males and the females, like in gorillas or sea lions, it seems that the brain of the male is only a little bit bigger than the brain of the female (so proportionally, it takes up less weight with respect to the rest of the body). For the details on knowledge, however, you would need to ask a neuroscientist, I’m afraid!
