I get to work with loads of people, so I talk about wildlife all the time. I love all the weird and interesting facts about wildlife, but there are so many! At the moment, I mostly talk about all the cool things you can find on the seashore.

For example, did you know that some types of hermit crab keep anemones as pets on their shells? That limpet tongues are made of the strongest material in nature? And that barnacles eat by catching food with their hairy legs?

I normally try to bring up fun facts about wildlife, because this is what makes people interested. For instance, did you know that there are pitcher plants that have evolved specifically to be shaped like little toilet bowls for animals called tree shrews? It’s an interesting adaptation – the tree shrew hops onto the plant, eats the sap that it produces, and deposits a little poop inside the pitcher. The plant is actually very pleased about that, because tree shrew poops contain a lot of nutrients that plants can’t access anywhere else.
So I generally like pointing out these sort of funny, interesting, gross or curious facts about wildlife to keep people engaged.

I mainly talk to people about why I love wildlife and why I think its so important to all of our lives to conserve the animals and plants we live with. I particularly enjoy taking people out and showing them how wonderful things like trees, insects and other animals are once you start looking at them and observing their behaviour. I know most people enjoy nature but sometimes we can forget just how wonderful it is
